Life Christian Academy and the Absten family are asking you to partner with them in prayer for our high school principal, Bobb Absten. Bobb was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and has begun chemotherapy treatments. The prognosis is that he will be able to continue to function in his duties as high school principal, collaborating with the rest of the administrative team, while being on his treatment plan. Please join us in praying daily for God to demonstrate His power and glory through bringing quick and complete healing to Bobb and the many others who are facing similar battles. The Absten family greatly covet your diligent heart-felt prayers and believe that God will hear and send complete healing through the faithful prayers of the Life Christian family.
“And Jesus went throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction among the people.” Matthew 4:23
We will continue to update this page as this story unfolds.

Bobb has just finished his second round of chemo, and is feeling very good! The Absten family thanks you for your prayers and support, and asks for your continued prayer that Bobb’s body is supernaturally strengthened to battle chemo’s side effects, and that the chemo is used with the power of the Spirit to destroy the cancer. Romans 8 says, “The law of the Spirit of life sets me free from the law of sin and death… Amen!”

Bobb continues to welcome and thank you for your prayers. His third round of Chemo is scheduled for this weekend. Please continue to pray that our great God heals Bobb through this time and that the Chemo continues to have little side-effect on his ability to function each day at school. Bobb is very thankful for everyone’s prayers. They truly are “felt” by Bobb and his family. “Faith is being SURE of what you hope for and CERTAIN of what you do not see. “ (Heb 11:1) Amen!

Bobb wants to again thank you for your daily prayers. He begins his fourth installment of chemo this Thursday, and will have further testing next week. He is very thankful he is able to function daily and asks that you continue to pray for miraculous healing and minimal side effects from the treatment. Bobb is holding on to the promises God has made over his life.
“Remember your word to your servant, for you have given me hope. My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life.” Psalm 119:49-50

Bobb is asking that you continue to pray for miraculous healing of his cancer. The doctors are concerned that the tumors have not responded to the current chemotherapy plan and are changing to a new regimen this week. Please continue to pray that the tumors will be healed and that there will be no further complications. We are believing God will be glorified in this situation.

After being hospitalized for internal bleeding on April 22, Mr. Absten’s blood counts rose significantly last week, enabling him to receive his regular chemo treatment and leave the hospital in time to attend part of last Thursday’s sophomore/junior retreat. His April 30 Facebook post reads, “Praising God today. Blood counts are up. Finally feel normal again. Back at work full strength. Nowhere I’d rather be. Thank you for your prayers. You have no idea how important they are to me and how powerful they are.” Praise God!

This is a big week for Bobb as he ends one of his Chemo cycles. It is a much larger dose and carries more side effects. Through the prayers of the saints, God has pushed back most the major side effects in the past and Bobb has been able to work every day. Please pray that he does not get sick this week from the Chemo on Tuesday and Wednesday and is able to finish the school year.
Additionally, Bobb has his second CAT scan next Monday morning. The last one did not go so well in that the tumors had spread. We are believing that all of your prayers and the new chemo are shriveling up the tumors as God one day is going to miraculously bring complete healing. We will keep you informed. Bobb thanks you for his prayers and the prayers for the many others who are managing daily serious problems. Please remember his wife Juli and five children who are right in the middle of this storm. Jesus said that, “in this world you will have trouble, but take heart, I HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD!” Praise Him! He will be glorified!

From Bobb Absten’s daughter, Kate Absten:
We had an unexpected trip to the hospital Tuesday morning around 3am, my dad has been submitted for internal bleeding. They were able to do a procedure yesterday afternoon which stopped most of the bleeding. His body is expected to heal the rest of his internal wounds. My dad is now more than stable in the ICU and cracking jokes at anyone who tells him to slow down
Please continue to pray that his blood count goes up, and that his temperature remains low.
Being blessed with so many friends we also have the luxury of many visitors. However, the ICU allows minimal visitors at one time. We encourage you to join with us in prayer, please know that this current circumstance only builds our faith in the Lord. Let us continue to claim every day in the Lords name as a great day! Praise God for bringing peace and joy into every circumstance
