On August 4th, 2012, surrounded by family and friends, Bobb M. Absten, beloved husband, father, friend and man of God, crossed the finish line and was welcomed into the arms of Jesus healed and whole.
For the past 8 years, Bobb gave outstanding spiritual, academic and administrative leadership as the High School Principal at Life Christian Academy. Loved by students, faculty and staff, Mr. Absten was known for his wisdom and humor. He never failed to offer what was needed encouragement, challenge, guidance, inspiration, or support.
Bobb was an uncommon man. He lived an uncommon life, in that he was always more concerned about others than he was about himself. His devotion to staff, students, and families was his passion for serving. Many times, Bobb cast the vote and affirmation for the underdog, for the unfortunate, and for the person who needed another chance. Bobb’s grace quota was high, very similar to that of Jesus’ best followers. His devotion to his Savior was so evident every day to all who met Bobb.
Before joining Life Christian Academy, Bobb served as a Family Issues Pastor at Clover Creek Bible Fellowship, a Counselor and Consultant in private practice specializing in adoption and foster care, and a High School Counselor and Elementary School Teacher in the Yelm School District. A love for people and a passion for teaching marked his career and leaves a lasting impact on everyone he met.
Bobb is survived by his wife, Juli, 5 children, Jill, Kate, Joey, Libby and Sam, and one beautiful granddaughter, Avery.
