LIFE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL K-5 DRESS CODE (Revised 7/29/2007)

All students in grades K-5 will be required to wear uniforms to school each day.
The following standards explain the uniform policy.
xxxxxUNIFORMS MUST BE WORN THE ENTIRE DAY.
xxxxxNo coats or hats are allowed to be worn in the building.
xxxxxHairstyles: Hairstyles need to be reasonable. Hair needs to be neat, clean, xxxxxand out of the eyes. It is the principal's prerogative to suggest change. Boy's xxxxxhair length should be no longer than the top of the collar, and above the earlobes.

REQUIRED UNIFORM ITEMS:

SHIRTS (boys and girls): Long or short-sleeved solid color white, red, or navy turtleneck, polo or collared shirt. NO OVERSIZED SHIRTS. Shirt must be tucked in at all times. Available through various department stores or The Dennis Company

PANTS (boys and girls): Navy corduroy or twill Docker style pants. NO SHORTS ON CHAPEL DAYS. NO STRETCH PANTS. NO OVERSIZED PANTS. Available through various department stores or The Dennis Company

JUMPERS (girls): Hamilton Plaid or navy jumpers are available through The Dennis Company and the French Toast Company. (Shorts may be worn under the jumper as long as they are not visible below the hemline of the jumper.)

SOCKS/LEG WEAR: Red, navy or white solid-colored knee socks, anklets, leggings or tights only. NO BARE FEET ALLOWED.

SHOES: Shoes must have a wide, low heel so as not to impair movement during recess or P.E. activities. For safety reasons-- NO SANDALS.

ADDITIONAL / OPTIONAL ITEMS

SHORTS: (boys and girls) Navy walking shorts. Available through various department stores. Plaid walking shorts for girls are available only through The Dennis Company.

SWEATSHIRTS: (boys and girls) Navy or red sweatshirt or with Life Christian emblem. Sweatshirts must be worn with a uniform shirt underneath and must be worn right side out with emblem showing. Available only through Life Christian Office. Upper school sweatshirts are not allowed.

SWEATPANTS: (boys and girls) Navy sweatpants can be worn on Fridays.

SKORTS OR SKIRTS: Navy or Hamilton Plaid. Length of skirt or skort must be modest.

ACCESSORIES: Hats and sunglasses may be worn only on the playground. Boys cannot wear earrings.
Girls cannot wear bandanas or sash-style belts

APPLICATION OF DRESS CODE GUIDELINES

" If a staff member deems that a student's attire is not appropriate, the student will be required to call home. Parents will be immediately contacted to bring appropriate attire.

" Lack of compliance with the dress code will be interpreted as a behavioral issue.
