The journey from childhood to young adulthood is a momentous one. Our middle school students find an environment that is supportive and nurturing. Students are given more freedom, more choices and more responsibility. Life Christian promotes self-reliance, honesty and respect. Academics is our top priority and all students are equipped with a sound grasp of fundamentals in the core subjects.

Mark Lovelady
Middle School Principal

To become successful young adults they also need opportunities to question and think critically for themselves. Middle school is also the time when students begin competing athletically and expressing themselves creatively in music, drama and art.

6th Grade Experience
We have designed a unique sixth grade experience that transitions our 5th graders into Middle school. Each student has three core teachers as compared to six teachers for 7th and 8th grade students. Rotate between these three teachers for core subjects.
Students participate fully in Middle School chapels, pep assemblies, student government, etc. They are assigned lockers and have their own lunch with extra time in the gym each day to work out that extra energy.

A highlight of 6th grade is C.O.D.E (Christian outdoor education). In the fall our sixth grade students and parent volunteers travel to Miracle Ranch for an intense three day study of the ecosystem and animal life. They also find time for campfires, skits and scavenger hunts.

Spiritual Life

Each middle school student in addition to core academics has Bible class every day. There are weekly chapel services led by the student worship team, student speakers, MS Pastor Kyle Sanborn, and MS Principal Mark Lovelady. The chapel services are called :"The Groove." Each fall life Christian brings in a dynamic youth speaker for Spiritual Emphasis Week. Our 7th and 8th grade students also enjoy an annual retreat with their class at one of the great camping facilities in the area. We provide opportunities for our students to learn and enjoy corporate prayer - we pray at the flagpole, we pray before meals, and staff and students pray for one another. Each student in the MS is placed into a small group called a “Mentor Group”. Each group is lead by a teacher and meets on a weekly basis. We also encourage our teachers to have their classes involved in outreach programs in our local community.

Sixth grade has four core teachers in addition to the specialists. The students rotate rooms for core subject instruction including math, science, Bible, language arts, reading, and social studies. Students will be able to choose from band, choir, drama, or art for their fine arts elective.

Middle School retreats must be attended by all students and will be considered part of the graded Bible course work.
