Alumni Highlights

 

JUSTIN MURRAY (1998)
After playing for the Washington State University Cougars for two seasons (2001 and 2002), Justin signed a semi-pro contract with the ABA Bellevue Blackhawks. Justin started, averaged double figures in scoring, and scored 20 points in the ABA Championship game last spring. In October of this year, Justin signed a pro contract to play in Brazil on the Corinthians of Santa Cruz. Justin still holds the LCA career record in steals (164), most points scored in a game (37 Districts vs., Kings), most three pointers made (6 vs. Kings), most points scored in a half (29), and a triple double (22 points, 14 steals, and 15 rebounds vs. Vashon-1998)


JORDAN LEE (2000)
Jordan finished an awesome career at Seattle Pacific University. He completed his undergraduate work with a triple major (Chrisita Theology, Philosophy, and Educational Ministry and a Minor in Christian Scriptures. He averaged 14.1 points his senior year and had 22 points vs. UW last year. Jordan is currently working on his masters in Theology. Jordan was voted to the TNT All-Area team his Junior and Senior year. This award is given to the top 10 players in the Tacoma area in any classification. He was also the Chinook League MVP for two straight years. Jordan still holds the LCA career records in assists (425) and three point shots made (146). He also holds records in the following: most 3 pointers made in a game (6) and average assists per game 6.1 per game. Jordan is attending Liberty Theological Seminary in Lynchburg, Virginia where he is presently working on a Masters of Arts in Religion.


MICHAEL PUTNAM (2001)
Michael graduated from Pepperdine University this past spring with a degree in Business Administration. As a golfer, he was a First Team All American, Academic All American and all sports student-athlete of the year for the West Coast Conference. He won the prestigious Byron Nelson Award as the top male golfer in the nation combining accomplishments of golf, academic, and citizenship. He was runner up at the NCAA Championships losing in a playoff, and later helped lead Team USA to a victory in the Walker Cup against the team from Great Britain and Ireland (first win for the US in 8 years). Michael turned pro in late August and finished 4th at his first PGA event (Buick Open in Cromwell, Conn.) shooting 63 on Sunday. He is currently working on getting his full time PGA tour card. He holds the course records at Washington National (64) and The Classic (65).


 

Michael Putnam -

Michael is the number one golfer for Pepperdine University. Last season he placed 2nd in the regionals (shooting a course record 64 at Washington National and the Classic 65 as well as the Chicago Golf Club 63 during the Walker Cup) and 12th at the NCAA Championships.
