Fastpitch
softball is a fun and exciting sport. It is a “spin-off”
from baseball. In comparison, the basic differences
are that pitches are thrown underhanded; Bases and pitching
distances are shorter; The ball is larger and a bright yellow
in color. The game is played at a very fast pace and
is incredibly exciting to both participants and spectators.
It is a team sport and requires a certain amount of skill.
But, it can be taught to very young players which can
learn, improve and develop greater skills as they grow. |
Fastpitch can be played through the college level as well
as in youth and adult recreation leagues. Fastpitch
is an international and Olympic sport. The rules are
basically the same at all levels and designed to promote
enthusiasm and safety.
There
are also numerous opportunities for Christian witnessing.
Our teams have always done their best to honor our Lord
and Savior Jesus Christ, on and off the field.

| The
LCA High School Fastpitch team is comprised of a hardworking
group of high school students coached
by equally dedicated teacher, Rhonda Schimon. This will
be Coach Schimon's first year with the high school team. She
previously managed the middle school team. Former Coach
Charlie Zanders managed the team since their first season
in the 2001-2002 school year. The 2007 season was their
best yet for this young team finishing just one win short
of District Play-offs. |

interested girls are encouraged to try out regardless of skill
level. All you need is determination, a willingness
to work and a pair of cleats! |
