Mr. Stan Seely- Science Department Chairman and High School Life Sciences Instructor...
Mr. Seely has been teaching biology for 43 years. Stan Seely

Some highlights of his teaching years have been:

  • Teaching in a Wycliffe mission school in the Amazon for a year.
  • Spending six weeks assisting in research at the University of Washington Medical School on a Heart Association grant.
  • Receiving the outstanding teacher of the year award from A.C.T.S. for the state of Washington.
  • Starting the Knowledge Bowl program at L.C.A and watching his team take the Tacoma City Championship in 2005 and tie for the regional championship in 2006.

However, Mr. Seely's biggest joy and accomplishment comes each time he meets or hears from any of his over 10,000 former students that they still remember him and tell him that he has made a positive difference in their lives.
