The book that I read aloud was 17 Kings and 42 Elephants by Margaret Mahy, Dial Books for Young Readers, New York, 1987.

For those who were interested in the report writing techniques (to include the diagram of a page with topic and reference squares) - James, Elizabeth and Carol Barkin, How To Write a Great School Report, Lothrop, Lee & Shepard Books, New York, 1983.

For those of you who would like to purchase the flip book that gives ideas for higher level thinking skills, Quick Flip Questions for Critical Thinking is published by Edupress, PO Box 883, Dana Point, CA 92629. There are also other flip books that have very helpful ideas in this series.
