Dr. Hawkins from NASA's Ames Research Center in California, came and spent the day with our lower school students, at the request of EXEL teacher Jackie Matthews. He spoke at both chapel programs, using age appropriate language to "describe the past, present and future of our country's exploration of space".He emphasized that the best answer to a question is........"maybe" -- then to try it and see what happens!

Z.O.N.E. Day - Grades K-5

...to Mrs. Corrigan and her Dream Team for an awesome Z.O.N.E. day. What is Z.O.N.E. Day? Our elementary students experienced Zillions Of New
Experiences (Z.O.N.E.’s) The platform of the day was to travel to new destinations (within grade level) and enjoy new adventures. Each teacher hosted a Z.O.N.E. of
their own choosing and allowed the students to experience such things as electricity, sign language, Legos, marble run, building with boxes, and much more. The children moved from “zone” to “zone” through out the day and met with different teachers and staff. We also had a visiting author, Karen Robbins, on campus for the day to present craft workshops to K-2 students.
